From September 1, 2022, the main provisions of the new edition of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Education come into force in the Republic of Belarus. The innovations relate to an increase in the duration of the academic year (from September 1 to August 31), the organization of thematic Saturdays for schoolchildren (from the 5th grade), the final certification at the end of general secondary education in individual subjects in the form of a centralized exam, and the expansion of the scope of targeted training , introduction of inclusive approaches in education.
In addition, in order to ensure the availability and quality of the educational process, safe conditions for students to stay in educational institutions, successful socialization of students, as well as to increase the effectiveness of the interaction of all participants in the educational process, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus approved curricula, the State Educational Standard and the «10 golden rules of the teacher».
Optimization of the educational process, taking into account the development trends of the modern educational space, makes an important contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal 4 and other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.

In the 2022/2023 academic year, the Energy Efficiency Department of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus, together with the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, is holding the XVI Republican competition for children and youth «Energy Marathon».
The main goal of the competition is to develop the skills of rational consumption of energy resources and respect for the environment among students, as well as to identify and disseminate the best practices of educational institutions in organizing efficient energy consumption.
The regional stages of the competition will be held in educational institutions of the regions and the city of Minsk until the end of 2022. The final stage of the competition will take place in March 2023 in the Vitebsk region.
The holding of the Republican competition «Energy Marathon» contributes to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 7, 12, 13 and other SDGs.

On August 25, 2022, a meeting of the Joint Belarusian-Russian Commission for the Protection and Rational Use of Transboundary Water Bodies was held in Nesvizh.
Within the framework of the meeting, the Joint Belarusian-Russian Commission summed up the results of the implementation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Russian Federation on cooperation in the field of protection and use of transboundary water bodies over the past period, and also considered promising areas for further cooperation, signed the Consolidated Program for Monitoring Transboundary Water Bodies in the Basins of the Dnieper and Western Dvina Rivers and the protocol of the XIII meeting of the commission.
Joint water resources management helps to preserve the water potential of transboundary states, increase the efficiency of use and protection of water resources, and also makes an important contribution to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals 6, 13, 14, 17 and other SDGs.

In order to organize order in the parking lot and save time, a resident company of the Park of High Technologies Light Well Organization, has created a digital service that allows you to book a parking space online. Any user can easily and quickly access various parking systems using a smartphone with the help of the digital service «Open» within the «Pay» application. The pre-booking service for parking spaces is already operating at Minsk National Airport. There are 173 places that can be booked. It is planned to expand the number of places for booking. A similar opportunity to book a parking space online will soon be available in Minsk by the spring of 2023.

Today the number of elderly people in the Republic of Belarus is about 16 percent of the total population. In this regard, it is very important to form an information field in the country aimed at creating a positive image of an elderly person in society, a person with an active life position.
To this end, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus and the United Nations Population Fund in Belarus have developed a Communication Strategy for Active Aging (IS 65+) for 2022-2024. To raise public awareness on the topic of active longevity, from August 24 to September 30, 2022, a series of training sessions will be held in all regions of the country. A total of 14 training sessions are planned, which will be attended by about 350 specialists from state and public organizations working with older people and coordinating information work with the population.
The implementation of the Communication Strategy for Active Aging for 2022-2024 will make an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 10, 16 and other SDGs.

One of the rational models of the circular economy is the sharing economy, which allows to optimize the consumption of resources. This approach is most widespread in such areas as transport, real estate, consumer goods and private services, machinery and equipment, and finance.
Currently, the Research Economic Institute of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus is working on the adoption of regulatory measures and an action plan for the development of the sharing economy in Belarus, taking into account international implementation experience.
The creation of conditions for promoting the sharing economy is provided by strategic documents: the National Strategy for Sustainable Development until 2035, the Program for the Social and Economic Development of the Republic of Belarus for 2021–2025, the National Action Plan for the Development of the Green Economy in the Republic of Belarus for 2021–2025 and etc.
The development of the sharing economy in Belarus will contribute to sustainable business, the development of the IT sector, as well as the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 8, 9, 12, 13 and other SDGs.

On August 18, 2022, a round table «Youth policy in Belarus: main directions and priorities» was held in Minsk.
During the event, representatives of state bodies and educational institutions discussed the main directions and priorities for the implementation of the youth policy of the Republic of Belarus, in particular, the provisions of the draft Law of the Republic of Belarus «On the Fundamentals of the State Youth Policy», support for youth initiatives, criteria for the effectiveness of the implementation of the state youth policy, social benefits for young people, measures to prevent delinquency among children, including those related to drug trafficking, etc.
The effective implementation of youth policy contributes to the creation of conditions for the successful socialization and development of the potential of young people, which makes an important contribution to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

In order to accumulate all reports in one access point, from January 1, 2023, the provision of all statistical reporting will be carried out in electronic form by the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus. A complete transition to electronic format will also be carried out by all producers of statistical information – the National Bank, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Health and others.
In addition, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus continues to work on integrating satellite accounts into the system of national accounts, making it possible for respondents to report through any browser using ID-cards, introducing a new classification of status in employment into the sample survey of households on employment, as well as introducing GIS technologies into the monitoring system of the Sustainable Development Goals and the statistical business register.
The development of state statistics and the improvement of the mechanisms for obtaining it contributes to the provision of reliable and timely information, which makes an important contribution to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

In order to improve programs and manuals in academic subjects, dialogue platforms were held on the basis of regional institutes for the development of education. The events were held with the participation of about 400 people – representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, educational institutions, participants in the pilot test, methodologists, authors and reviewers of textbooks.
Based on the proposals received, an action plan was formed – a roadmap to improve the quality of teaching aids for general secondary education institutions. These measures are of a complex nature and involve the adjustment of regulatory legal and instructive and methodological documents, the improvement of methodological support for teaching staff and the mechanisms of national educational book publishing, and the revision of plans for the publication of educational publications.

A volunteer scientific and educational project to develop research and inventive competencies among young people is being implemented during the summer holidays at the Baranovichi State University. More than 150 people have registered to participate in the project – high school students and students from educational institutions of Belarus, Russia and Uzbekistan.
Training sessions are held online in the format of networking in three modules: conducting scientific research, modeling a startup idea and designing a science-intensive, innovative development.
The participants will demonstrate their results during the Novator Youth Forum, which will be held in October 2022.
