In order to create conditions for the development of entrepreneurial initiative and stimulate business activity in the Republic of Belarus, a republican contest of ideas on new ways of using wood and wood waste «WOOD INNOVATION» is being held. The presentation of ideas (concepts) will take place on September 16, 2022 as part of the XX International Specialized Exhibition-Fair «LESDREVTECH-2022».
The organizers of the competition are the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Belarus and the National Exhibition Center «BelExpo».
Authors of new ideas, developments, inventions related to the use of wood and wood waste in industry, energy, construction, landscaping, and everyday life are invited to participate.
The application for participation in the competition must be completed by August 26, 2022.
The competition will contribute to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 8, 9, 12, 13, 15 and other SDGs.

In 2021, the holding «Horizont» began the revitalization of the former factory premises for the innovative production «NeoPark», all of whose facilities are united by intellectual, labor, cultural and community ties. Modernization involves the creation of industrial and medical centers, a unique leisure and educational complex for people of all ages and an environment for the professional orientation of young people under the general name «Technograd».
The holding has already created the Department of Innovative Development, where they prepare and implement innovative products, smart city infrastructure facilities. In addition, a complete technical modernization of the premises of building №25 for the production of avionics and on-board electronics was carried out, promising areas were prepared to accommodate a group for the development and testing of manufactured products.
It is planned that the construction of the technopark will be completed by 2025.
The creation of an innovative production «NeoPark» will contribute to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 3, 8, 9, 12 and other SDGs.

On August 11, 2022, a meeting of the Public Advisory Council for Entrepreneurship Development and the Public Coordinating Ecological Council was held at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus.
More than 30 representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus, enterprises and public organizations took part in the meeting.
During the event, the participants discussed the implementation of state policy in the field of environmental protection and rational use of natural resources, the dialogue of the population with government agencies, and also considered the main provisions of the draft laws «On State Environmental Expertise, Strategic Environmental Assessment and Environmental Impact Assessment» and «On the Protection of Atmospheric Air» and made proposals for their improvement.
The implementation of the state policy in the field of environmental protection and rational use of natural resources contributes to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 7, 12, 13, 15 and other SDGs.

On August 15, 2022, the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics hosted a round table on preparations for the UN Global Summit on the Transformation of Education, which will be held on September 19 as part of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. The purpose of the Summit will be the development of mechanisms for cooperation in the field of education to achieve SDG 4 «Quality Education».
The round table was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, UN agencies, educational institutions, public organizations.
During the event, the participants discussed the content of the report «The National Education System: Achievements, Challenges, Prospects for Development», and also shared proposals for thematic blocks: «Inclusive, Fair, Safe and Healthy Schools»; «Learning and skills for life, work and sustainable development»; «Digital Learning and Transformation»; «Educators, Teaching and the Teaching Profession» and «Education Financing».

On August 12, 2022, in the village of Saltanovka, Mogilev Region, the IV Investment Forum «Mogilev District – Territory of Opportunities» was held, providing an opportunity to get acquainted with the investment and economic potential of the Mogilev District and individual enterprises. The forum was organized by the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee and JSC «Mogilev Regional Development Agency».
The investment forum brought together more than 500 participants, including representatives of government and business from 11 countries – Russia, India, Turkey, Tajikistan, China, Sweden, etc.
Within the framework of the forum, issues of modern technologies in industry, prospects for agriculture and peasant farming, agroecotourism, problems and ways to solve them in the construction industry were discussed.
The outcome of the Investment Forum was the signing of 29 documents, including a number of cooperation agreements to attract investment in the region’s economy and contracts between enterprises.

On August 10, 2022, the regional round table «Actual issues of organizing the work of inpatient social service institutions to improve the quality of services provided to residents» was held at the State Institution «Cherven Psychoneurological Boarding Home for the Elderly and Disabled».
The round table was organized for directors and specialists of boarding schools in the Minsk region. The participants discussed issues of improving living conditions, introducing modern methods of work, preparing residents with rehabilitation potential for independent living, etc.
Today, there are 92 boarding houses in Belarus, 55 of them are of a neuropsychiatric profile, in which 19 thousand citizens live.
The functioning of boarding schools makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 3, 10 and other SDGs.

From August 15 to August 19, 2022, a young teacher school for teachers with up to 2 years of experience will operate in Grodno.
