On February 4, 2025, the seminar “Implementation of Lean Management in the Organization” organized by the Belarusian State Institute of Standardization and Certification with the support of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus was held in Minsk.
The seminar launched a series of educational events for companies to learn the philosophy and methods of lean manufacturing. In the future, these activities will be conducted for specialists of organizations in the form of advanced training with the issuance of relevant documents.
In total, more than 120 managers and specialists in the field of system management of enterprises of the Belarusian industry took part in the seminar “Implementation of Lean Management in the Organization”.
During the seminar speakers noted that it is impossible to improve the efficiency of the economy and increase labor productivity without ensuring the principles of lean production. The basis for the organization of work in this direction is the development of state standards for lean production management systems, which will take into account the requirements in force in the world practice, the experience of partners and national achievements.
To date, a corresponding roadmap has already been developed and approved. It envisages the development of state standards, a system for assessing the effectiveness of lean manufacturing implementation, expansion of educational programs for the acquisition and improvement of competencies by managers and specialists. As a final result, this set of measures is aimed at making the requirements for the availability of certificates of compliance with the principles of lean production gradually become mandatory for all state-owned enterprises. A pilot list of pilot organizations is planned to be identified by May 2025. At the same time, the benefits accruing to the organization from such certification are being worked out.
Also, at the moment Belarus is preparing a draft standard “Lean Management System. Requirements and guidelines for application”, the structure of similar foreign standards, experience and approaches of different countries, including those accumulated in Belarus, are being studied.
In addition, in 2025, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus amended the Recommendations on the development of development forecasts of commercial organizations for five years and business plans for the development of commercial organizations for a year, supplementing them with requirements for planning activities for the implementation of the lean production system.
