The Youth Parliament under the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Youth Public Association «Movement Forward» are conducting the seventh recruitment for participation in the Leadership Platform «Team of the Future» project.
Leadership Platform «Team of the Future» is a project to search, promote and train young leaders of Belarus (from 18 to 35 years old) in theoretical and practical skills in the field of leadership and public administration.
The seventh cohort project program will include a number of dialogue platforms, excursions to government structures and facilities, training in public speaking skills, leadership development and interpersonal communication technologies.

The Contest of Pilot Initiatives on the SDGs is held with the support of the United Nations Development Program within the framework of the Joint Project “Support to the Efforts of the Republic of Belarus in Nationalization and Localization of SDGs” with financial support from the Russian Federation.

From March 27 to 29, 2024, the International Youth Forum on the Sustainable Development Goals was held at the NDC «Zubrenok», organized within the framework of the international technical assistance project «Support to the Efforts of the Republic of Belarus in Nationalization and Localization of SDGs» with the financial support of the Russian Federation.
The participants of the forum were the Youth Ambassadors of the SDGs of the Republic of Belarus and their backups, representatives of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the youth team of the NDC «Zubrenok».
During the forum, participants discussed the main tasks for implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, identified the most pressing problems in achieving the SDGs and proposed ways to solve them. The program included:

On April 2, 2024, the information seminar on the Contest of Pilot Initiatives on the Sustainable Development Goals was held in Minsk.
More than 70 people took part in the event, of which 69% were women. The seminar was joined by representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Minsk regional and district executive committees, educational institutions, social services, culture, public organizations working in the field of providing humanitarian assistance, supporting people with visual disabilities, children and young people with disabilities, as well as private companies in the field of tourism, banking, support for small and medium-sized businesses, the introduction of unmanned technologies in agriculture, and the production of automotive electronics.
During the seminar, the representative of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus elaborated on the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Belarus on international technical assistance, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus informed about the functioning of the national architecture for managing the process of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
The United Nations Development Program team presented the Regulations on the Contest, requirements for Pilot Initiatives on the SDGs, and also demonstrated the process of submitting applications for the Competition through a specially created platform sdgidea.by.
In addition, together with a representative of the United Nations Population Fund, the experience of localizing the SDGs in Belarus was presented, as well as potential directions for future pilot initiatives in the context of 4 accelerators to achieve the SDGs in the Republic of Belarus.
The information seminar was organized by the Minsk Regional Executive Committee together with UNDP within the framework of the international technical assistance project “Support to the Efforts of the Republic of Belarus in Nationalization and Localization of SDGs” with financial support from the Russian Federation.

In the Republic of Belarus, in order to provide consumers with a water supply of drinking quality, as well as to develop water supply and sanitation systems, the State Program «Comfortable Housing and Favorable Environment» for 2021–2025 is being implemented.
In accordance with the program, the level of provision of the population with centralized water supply and sanitation systems at the end of 2023 is 98,1%, by the end of 2025 this figure will be 100%. As part of the state program, the construction of iron removal stations is also being carried out – about 800 stations are planned to be put into operation by the end of 2025. In addition, by the end of 2025, it is planned to reconstruct and put into operation 70 wastewater disposal facilities; to date, 32 facilities have been put into operation.
Improving the quality of drinking water makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 3, 6, 11 and other SDGs.

According to the UNDP Human Development Report 2023/2024, the Republic of Belarus is classified as a country with a very high level of human development and ranks 69th among 193 countries in the Global Human Development Index.
The Human Development Index is a summary measure of average achievement in three main dimensions of human development: a long and healthy life, access to knowledge and a decent standard of living.
For Belarus, the Human Development Index in 2022 was 0.801. The average life expectancy is 72.4 years, the average duration of education is 12.2 years and the gross income per capita in the country is 19,104 thousand US dollars.

During the seminar, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) team presented the Regulations on the Сontest, requirements for pilot initiatives on the SDGs, and also demonstrated the process of submitting applications for the Сontest through a specially created platform sdgidea.by. A prerequisite for holding a competition is the creation of equal opportunities and fair access to resources and expertise for all applicants, regardless of their social status, cultural characteristics or other factors.
The UNDP team, together with representatives of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), presented the experience of localizing the SDGs in Belarus, as well as potential directions for future pilot initiatives in the context of 4 accelerators to achieve the SDGs in the Republic of Belarus.

On April 1, 2024, the National Competition «Entrepreneur of the Year» starts in Belarus, organized by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus with the aim of popularizing entrepreneurship and stimulating the business activity of citizens.
