On March 12, 2024, a training workshop on working with the information and analytical system (IAS) “Geostatistics” was held in Minsk. This is a system of interactive graphical visualization of official statistics in various sectors in the context of administrative-territorial units of Belarus (regions, districts, village councils, settlements), located on the resources of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus.
The target audience of the workshop is more than 20 representatives of territorial state statistics bodies who will work with the IAS “Geostatistics” in the regions and the capital of the country.
IAS “Geostatistics” users can use the spatial data and official statistical information contained in it to conduct analysis, scientific research, and make decisions at the national, regional and local levels. Data can be obtained from the information system in the form of tables, charts, cartograms, and also downloaded in a user-friendly format.
The workshop was organized by the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus with the support of the United Nations Development Program in Belarus within the framework of the international technical assistance project “Support to the Efforts of the Republic of Belarus in Nationalization and Localization of the Sustainable Development Goals”, funded by the Russian Federation.

Today, the level of women’s involvement in entrepreneurship in Belarus is 36.4%. Women’s businesses are more often represented in consulting, advertising and marketing, the beauty industry, tourism, interior design and tailoring.
With the support of the government, the provisions of the Agreement on cooperation and interaction to stimulate women’s entrepreneurial initiative are being implemented, within the framework of which more than 30 round tables, business trainings, cooperation exchanges, B2B negotiations, as well as the Republican Forum of Women Entrepreneurs were held.
Promoting the development of women’s entrepreneurship makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 5, 8, 10 and other SDGs.

On March 19, 2024, the information seminar on the Contest of Pilot Initiatives on the Sustainable Development Goals will be held in Mogilev. The Contest is aimed at supporting projects of governmental and non-governmental organizations in the field of localization and popularization of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The media festival is organized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and the Coordination Center «Education for Sustainable Development» of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M. Tank within the framework of the international technical assistance project “Support to the Efforts of the Republic of Belarus in Nationalization and Localization of SDGs”, implemented by UN agencies in the Republic of Belarus and funded by the Government of the Russian Federation.

On March 4, 2024, RUE «Center for Digital Development» and CJSC «Brest Science and Technology Park» signed an agreement on cooperation and interaction, which sets out the key areas of joint work on digital development issues.
The agreement provides for the opportunity to exchange experience in the field of application of information, communication and digital technologies, provide organizational and methodological support, develop events and pilot projects in the field of digital development for the Brest region.
The implementation of the provisions of the agreement will contribute to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 9, 11 and other SDGs.

From February 28 to 29, 2024, the final event for the implementation of the educational project «Green Schools» in 2023 was held at the educational institution «Republican Center for Ecology and Local History».
The event brought together more than 150 representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus, JSC «Belinvestbank», the United Nations Development Program in Belarus, regional resource centers, educational institutions that received the status of «Green School» in 2023.

In 2023, 109 educational institutions received the «Green School» status. The list of educational institutions implementing the educational project «Green Schools» (as of December 31, 2023) is available at the link. In total, 413 educational institutions out of 648 involved in the project «Green Schools» have the status «Green School».
The implementation of the educational project «Green Schools» contributes to the formation of environmentally literate behavior among students, increasing the level of environmental orientation of education, which makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 4, 12, 13, 14, 15 and other SDGs.
