On January 17, 2024, the visiting meeting of the National Commission on the Rights of the Child was held at the Institute of Inclusive Education of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank.
Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, republican government bodies, local and judicial authorities, educational institutions took part in the work of the commission.
The meeting was dedicated to improving the effectiveness of inclusive education within the educational process in the country. The meeting also discussed issues of organizing interdepartmental interaction in the field of inclusive education, improving the quality of training of teachers-defectologists, providing assistance to children with special needs in health care organizations, the role of the Institute of Inclusive Education in the system of working with children with special educational needs, etc. As a result of the commission meeting, the work plan of the National Commission on Child Rights for 2024 was approved.
Providing quality education to all citizens makes an important contribution to achieving Sustainable Development Goals 4, 10 and other SDGs.

From January to October 2024, in order to develop a high environmental culture among students and increase their active social position through research, design and environmental activities aimed at saving natural resources, the Republican contest of environmental projects «Green School» is being held in Belarus.
Participants of the contest are pupils and teachers of preschool education institutions, as well as students aged 10-17 years who are mastering the content of the educational program of additional education for children and youth and are students of general secondary education institutions, as well as students mastering the content of the educational program of general secondary education as individually and collectively.

Conducting the Republican contest of environmental projects «Green School» helps to increase students’ awareness of environmental protection and rational use of natural resources and the formation of environmentally literate behavior, which contributes to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 12, 13 and other SDGs.

On December 19, 2023, the second stage of the contest «Youth Ambassadors of the SDGs – the Future of the Planet is in Our Hands» took place. 150 young people from different regions of Belarus took part in the final of the contest. The activities of the SDG Youth Ambassadors make an important contribution to the implementation by the Republic of Belarus of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
In March 2024, a large-scale system to combat cyber fraud will begin to function in Belarus.
The system is being developed by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus in accordance with Presidential Decree № 269 of August 29, 2023 «On measures to combat unauthorized payment transactions». At the moment, organizational, legal and technical preparatory measures for its launch are being carried out.
The functioning of the system to combat cyber fraud will contribute to ensuring cyber security, as well as to achieving Sustainable Development Goals 9, 16 and other SDGs.
In January-November 2024, the Republican Center for Ecology and Local History, with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, is holding a republican contest «Best Practices for Implementing the Educational Project «Green Schools» in Educational Institutions».
Managers and teaching staff of preschool education institutions, general secondary, vocational, secondary specialized education institutions, institutions of additional education for children and youth are invited to participate.
The main nominations of the competition: «Ecological Project», «Model of Environmental Education», «Ecological Magazine».
Conducting a republican contest «Best Practices for Implementing the Educational Project «Green Schools» in Educational Institutions» will identify effective practices for implementing the educational project «Green Schools», will contribute to improving the methodological competence of teaching staff, as well as to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 4, 8, 12, 13 and other SDGs.

On December 29, 2023, the President of the Republic of Belarus signed the Law of the Republic of Belarus № 333-3 «On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Belarus «On Waste Management».

On December 29, 2023, the President of the Republic of Belarus signed the Law of the Republic of Belarus № 332-3 «On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Belarus «On the Protection of the Ozone Layer».
The law was adopted with the aim of bringing legislation into compliance with the provisions of the amendment to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer (Montreal Protocol), international treaties of the Republic of Belarus and international legal acts that constitute the law of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The document regulates issues of recovery, recovery, recycling and neutralization of ozone-depleting substances, import, export and accounting of ozone-depleting substances and products containing them and other issues in the field of ozone layer protection.
The implementation of the provisions of Law № 332-3 «On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Belarus «On the Protection of the Ozone Layer» will make an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goal 13 and other SDGs.
In order to identify the most effective practices in climate mitigation, adaptation and sustainable development, the International Climate Contest «Green Eurasia» is being held.
Commercial organizations, government agencies, authorities and local self-government, non-profit organizations, individuals of the EAEU member states and third countries can take part in the contest. Each participant in the contest can submit no more than three applications in the following categories:
Applications for participation in the contest are accepted from February 1 to March 31, 2024. The results will be summed up and the winners of the contest will be awarded in May 2024 as part of the Eurasian Economic Forum.

The draft Concept of the National Sustainable Development Strategy of the Republic of Belarus for the period until 2040 (NSDS-2040) has been submitted for public discussion.
The concept of NSDS-2040 was prepared by the SSI «Research Economic Institute of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus» together with the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus based on proposals from members of interdepartmental and sectoral groups for the development of NSDS-2040, government bodies and other organizations.
The document contains basic provisions that are based on a systems approach that reveals the development of three interrelated components: people, economics and ecology. Based on them, five long-term development priorities were selected:

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, together with its territorial bodies, is holding a republican competition to reduce emissions from motor vehicles.
Business entities operating 25 or more motor vehicles are invited to participate in the competition. The competition participant’s report must be sent to the regional and Minsk city committees of natural resources and environmental protection by February 15, 2024.
The procedure for organizing and conducting the competition is determined by the Instructions on the procedure for holding a republican competition to reduce emissions from motor vehicles, approved by Resolution of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection dated August 29, 2019 № 27.
Holding a republican competition to reduce emissions from motor vehicles contributes to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 3, 13 and other SDGs.
