On October 11, 2023, the press conference «Standardization in Belarus – achievements and development prospects» was held in Minsk, timed to the Day of Standardization in the Republic of Belarus, which is celebrated on October 14. Standards for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals» with an emphasis on the role of standards in achieving SDG 3 «Ensuring a healthy lifestyle and promoting well-being for all at any age».

On October 7, 2023, a meeting was held in the Vitebsk region to discuss the progress of implementation of the Set of Measures for the Development of the Polotsk District for the period until 2025.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus, Polotsk regional and district executive committees, and implementers of the planned events.
The meeting participants got acquainted with the results of the implementation of infrastructure projects provided for by the state and regional investment programs for 2021-2022, the progress of their implementation in 2023, and also discussed the creation of the necessary conditions for their timely implementation.
Currently, 12 investment projects are being implemented in the Polotsk region aimed at developing the region as a tourist, industrial, historical, cultural, and spiritual center of Belarus. Among those already implemented in 2023: 25.3 thousand square meters were put into operation. meters of housing, a kindergarten, iron removal stations and a number of other facilities were built. Also, out of 31 indicators of the Set of Measures established for 2023, according to the results of 9 months, 20 annual values were achieved.
The implementation of the Set of Measures for the Development of the Polotsk District for the period until 2025 makes an important contribution to the implementation of the Agenda for Sustainable Development for the period until 2030.

On October 2, 2023, the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus № 307 «On the most important parameters of the forecast of socio-economic development of the Republic of Belarus for 2024» was signed.
The main goal of economic policy in 2024 will be to ensure the sustainability of the economy and increase the well-being of the population. It is expected that the growth of gross domestic product is projected to be 3.8%, fixed capital by 3.9%, exports of goods and services by 7.6%, real disposable income of the population by 3.5%. To achieve the most important parameters, the Target Plan for the socio-economic development of the Republic of Belarus for 2024 will be approved. It will concentrate priority tasks for the implementation of production, export and investment plans.
The main drivers of the Belarusian economy are industry, agriculture, IT- and other services that Belarus can offer. Particular attention will be paid to the state investment program and the initiative «One District – One Project».

Also, the meeting participants got acquainted with the work of the SDG Youth Ambassadors of the third convocation and the results of the participation of the delegation of the Republic of Belarus in the SDG Summit in September 2023 in New York.

On October 9, 2023, an extended on-site meeting of the public coordination environmental council under the Minsk Regional Committee of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection took place.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus, public associations, enterprises and organizations of the Minsk region.
During the meeting the following issues were considered:
Minimizing the impacts of climate change, as well as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 12, 13 and other SDGs.
On October 8, 2023, a round table was held in Minsk on the topic «Social adaptation and integration of children with special needs of psychophysical development. Training in the field of inclusive education».
The principle of inclusion is one of the main directions of the state policy of the Republic of Belarus in the field of education. It is enshrined in the State Program «Education and Youth Policy» for 2021-2025, the Education Code of the Republic of Belarus. According to preliminary data, the number of children with special needs of psychophysical development is 183,2 thousand children, for whom the education system offers various options for organizing the educational process.
In total, there are 236 special education institutions in Belarus, including 48 special kindergartens, 47 special schools and special boarding schools, 141 centers for correctional and developmental education and rehabilitation.
In addition, the education system provides a number of benefits and measures of social support for children with special needs of psychophysical development: payment for meals in educational institutions, free correction of physical or mental developmental disabilities, organization of free transportation for students, provision of social and pedagogical support to graduates after graduation in the future employment.
Providing accessible and quality education for every child makes an important contribution to the Republic of Belarus achieving Sustainable Development Goals 4, 10 and other SDGs.

On September 18-19, 2023, the SDG Summit was held at the UN headquarters. At the Summit, the Belarusian side distributed information materials highlighting the progress of the Republic of Belarus in achieving the SDGs, as well as commitments to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. These materials were published as an official document of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly A/78/372.

On October 9-12, 2023, the II Student Forum on the Sustainable Development Goals, organized by the Youth Ambassadors of the Sustainable Development Goals, is being held at the Belarusian State University.
The Forum program includes thematic lectures, practical seminars, workshops, SDG quizzes on inclusive etiquette in education, social and environmental issues, gender equality, volunteering, achievements of Belarus in the field of Sustainable Development Goals, etc.
The Student Forum on the Sustainable Development Goals makes an important contribution to promoting the ideas and values of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
