To study the interests and needs of students, taking into account regional characteristics and the socio-cultural environment, from September 4 to September 10, 2023, Belarus hosts the Republican Week of Institutions of Additional Education for Children and Youth. Within the framework of the Week, the final of the regional contest of professional skills of managers and specialists of institutions of additional education for children and youth will also take place.
Holding the Republican week of institutions of additional education for children and youth will contribute to the expansion of areas and types of activities in all areas of additional education, which will contribute to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 4 and other SDGs.

From August 31 to September 1, 2023, the Forum of Gifted Children and Youth was held at the National Children’s Technopark.
The brightest graduates of the children’s technopark gathered at the forum. As part of the scientific and educational program of the forum, the guys attended lectures with the participation of the chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, during which they discussed the implementation and support of scientific projects and research of young people in the Republic of Belarus.

On September 2, 2023, the Festival of Science organized by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will be held in Minsk.
The Festival site will have zones in various areas: «Medicine», «Ecology», «Space», «Robots», «Sci-fi zone», «Polygon», «Food», «ATOM TEAM», «University of the Future». Within the framework of the Festival, an exhibition-competition «100 innovations of young scientists» will be held. Lectures by scientists from various fields, master classes, quizzes, etc. will be organized.
The holding of the Science Festival makes an important contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal 9 and other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.

August 29, 2023 at the Belarusian State Pedagogical University. M. Tanka held a meeting «Youth Vision of the Sustainable Development Goals in Belarus», timed to coincide with the Global SDG Summit, which will be held on September 16-18, 2023 at the UN Headquarters in New York.
The event was attended by the SDG Youth Ambassadors, the National Coordinator for the achievement of the SDGs in Belarus, representatives of the UNICEF Youth Advisory Group, members of the SDG Volunteer Team, representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the ESD Coordinating Council.
During the meeting, SDG Youth Ambassadors conducted a SWOT-analysis and identified the progress made by the Republic of Belarus within the four platforms:
In addition, the guys were asked to develop 2-3 projects, the implementation of which can stimulate progress within these platforms and identify possible risks in the course of their implementation.

In order to determine the level of functional literacy of students, obtain objective information about the state of the system of general basic education, as well as inform the public about the quality of training of the younger generation in November 2023, the National Research of the Quality of Education will be conducted in the Republic of Belarus.
The research includes the implementation of diagnostic work: a survey of students in the 10th grade of educational institutions and teachers. A feature of diagnostic work is the focus on testing the abilities of students to use the experience gained in the classroom (learned knowledge, skills, methods of activity) to solve life problems modeled in tasks.

In order to draw attention to the problem of climate change and possible forms of adaptation to it, an eco-quiz «Climate Challenges and Solutions» for children and youth was held at the Forum site. More than 65 schoolchildren and students took part in the eco-quiz.
The holding of the XVII Republican Environmental Forum makes an important contribution to the implementation of the Agenda for Sustainable Development for the period up to 2030.
One of the directions for the implementation of the State Program «Labor Market and Employment Promotion» for 2021-2025 is the provision of financial support for organizing their own business to unemployed citizens.
Over the past five years, about 7.7 thousand unemployed citizens have received such state support, 49% of whom are women. At the same time, about 80% of the total number of citizens chose entrepreneurial activities, 19% – handicraft activities, 1% – activities for the provision of services in the field of agroecotourism. Among the main types of business activities organized by the unemployed, the provision of various types of services (construction, hairdressing, transport, maintenance and repair of cars) and trading activities predominate.
Providing financial support to the unemployed citizens to start their own business makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 1, 8, 10 and other SDGs.

Currently, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus is working on expanding the set of digital economy indicators and developing a regional platform for the Sustainable Development Goals, which will reflect national data and the characteristics of each region in the context of the SDGs.
In addition, work is underway to launch a geostatistical data dissemination portal. The resource will be a map on which it is planned to present census data and economic characteristics of each region. The launch of this resource is expected by the end of 2023.
The provision of high-quality and up-to-date information is an important element of the sustainable development of all spheres of the life of the state, which makes an important contribution to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
On August 25, 2023, within the framework of the XVII Republican Environmental Forum, the conference «Intersectoral cooperation in the context of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)» was held.
The conference is of great importance given the participation of the Belarusian delegation in the SDG Summit, which will be held in September this year in New York. Belarus will present the country’s achievements in the implementation of the 2023 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

On August 22-24, 2023, the II International Specialized Ecological Exhibition «ECOLOGY EXPO – 2023» was held in Minsk.
Within the framework of the exhibition, dialogue platforms «Development of the circular economy in the Republic of Belarus» and «Achievement by the Republic of Belarus of a nationally determined contribution to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions» were held, as well as the XIV meeting of the Joint Belarusian-Russian Commission on the protection and rational use of transboundary water bodies.
In 2023, the main focus of the exhibition was on such topics as «Environmental technologies in development», «Environmentally friendly construction technologies», «Waste and secondary raw materials», «Eco-transport», «Eco-environment», «Eco-nutrition and Eco -packaging», «Ecotourism», «Scientific research in the field of ecology, environmental education and enlightenment».
The holding of the international specialized environmental exhibition «ECOLOGY EXPO – 2023» contributes to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of the Sustainable Development Goals 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 15 and other SDGs.
