The Republic of Belarus is committed to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and has already taken a number of important steps towards its implementation at the national level. The most important tasks of the 2030 Agenda are the eradication of poverty and property inequality, the food security of the state, ensuring access to health care and education for all citizens, promoting the innovative development of the state and society, and creating conditions for the realization of a person’s personal potential.
The project «Supporting the Efforts of the Republic of Belarus in the Nationalization and Localization of the Sustainable Development Goals» is aimed at achieving the SDGs and will be implemented in the next three years with funding of more than 3 million dollars. The project provides for a series of activities to support the functioning of the national architecture for managing the process of achieving the SDGs, to promote the inclusion of the SDGs in the regional planning system, as well as the development and operation of the system for collecting, monitoring, evaluating data on the Sustainable Development Goals. Currently, work is underway to specify the activities for the work plan for 2023.

In Belarus, the need to equip charging facilities with the necessary GB/T standard connectors is increasing due to the growing number of Chinese electric vehicles. Belorusneft intends to modernize 250 charging stations for electric cars in 2023. The company will also expand its network of super-fast chargers. It is planned that the network will have 689 electric charging stations and 8 super-fast filling complexes by the end of 2023, and 86 super-fast complexes will be built by 2030. In total, at the beginning of 2023, there were 627 electric charging stations operating under the brand «Malanka» in the country and one super-fast filling complex in Minsk.
The expansion of the electric charging network contributes to an increase in the number of electric vehicle users, which makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goal 13 and other SDGs.

On March 23, 2023, the National Children’s Technopark hosted a thematic meeting «SDGs: Let’s Achieve Together!», organized by the Coordinating Center «Education for Sustainable Development» EE «Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank».
In the format of an interactive lecture, students get acquainted with the concepts of «sustainability» and «sustainable development», the history of formation and the specifics of the concept of sustainable development, analyzed the relationship of its economic, environmental and social components, and also discussed ways to form eco-friendly habits and the possibility of implementing socially significant initiatives in their educational institutions. Particular attention during the meeting was paid to the content of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the issues of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, the positions of the Republic of Belarus in the ranking for achieving the SDGs.
Holding a thematic meeting «SDGs: Let’s Achieve Together!» contributes to the promotion of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

In April, all regions of Belarus will host the republican voluntary action «Forest Week», organized by the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Belarus.
Promotion dates:
Сontact the nearest forestry or forestry to participate in the action. Forestry institutions will provide volunteers with the necessary planting material, as well as inventory, and will mark objects that need to be planted.

On March 17, 2023, the republican seminar-meeting «Smart Cities of Belarus» was held in Mogilev, organized by the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.
During the event, the participants discussed the plan for the implementation of the project «Smart Cities of Belarus», the system of training specialists for its implementation, the development and implementation of information and communication technologies, the prospects for organizing network training, and also got acquainted with the work of the scientific and educational center for organizing network training «Smart city», created on the basis of the educational institution «Belarusian State Academy of Telecommunications».
The project «Smart Cities of Belarus» is designed to become a driver of economic and technological growth of the regions, which will make an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 9, 10, 11 and other SDGs.

On March 21, 2023, a meeting of the Interdepartmental Expert Group on the environmental direction of work to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals was held in Minsk.
During the meeting, the participants discussed new approaches to the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity at the national level in the context of the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework, the results of the UNDP experts’ assessment of financing for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity according to the BIOFIN methodology, the economic and legal foundations for creating ecosystem services market in Belarus.
On March 22, 2023, students met with the Youth Ambassadors of SDG 5 «Gender Equality» and SDG 9 «Industrialization, Innovation and Infrastructure» at the Belarusian State Aviation Academy.
During the meeting, SDG Youth Ambassadors spoke about the history of the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of seventeen interrelated sustainable development goals aimed at achieving a better and more sustainable future for all of humanity. During individual speeches, each of the ambassadors spoke about the presented direction and about the methods by which the expected result is achieved.
Belarus has adopted and is implementing the National Strategy for the Management of Municipal Solid Waste and Secondary Material Resources for the period up to 2035. The strategy defines the main directions for achieving a 90% level of waste use by 2035, one of which is the energy use of waste. First of all, it is about alternative fuel from waste – RDF-fuel.
In 2021, a production line for the use of RDF fuel was put into operation at OJSC «Krasnoselskstroymaterialy». It is expected that the first facility for the production of RDF-fuel will be at the waste processing plant and will be completed in Grodno in 2023. In the future, it is planned to build centralized plants for the production of RDF-fuel in Minsk, Volkovysk and Krichevsky districts.
The use of waste as an alternative source of fuel will contribute to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 12, 13 and other SDGs.

In the Republic of Belarus, one of the priority areas is to reduce inter-regional differentiation. To this end, a system document – a draft concept of the state policy of regional development of Belarus has been developed in the country.
An important element of the concept is the «village of the future», which provides for higher social standards for comfortable living in the countryside – in health care, education, transportation, housing and communal services. To date, a system of social standards for comfortable living has already been developed and about 25 settlements (several in each region) have been selected where these standards will be implemented.
The reduction of interregional differentiation makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 10, 11 and other SDGs.
