In order to identify effective practices aimed at the sustainable development of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, the International Climate Competition «Green Eurasia» is being held.
Commercial organizations, state institutions, authorities, local governments, non-profit organizations and associations, individuals (citizens of the EAEU member states) can take part in the competition. A participant of the Competition can submit no more than three applications (practices) in the following nominations:

On March 16, 2023, an off-site meeting of the Advisory Council under the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on the issues of social adaptation and integration of children with special needs of psychophysical development was held in Polotsk.
During the event, members of the advisory council, representatives of ministries, as well as the pedagogical community of the Polotsk region discussed the provision of educational institutions with qualified specialists, determining the educational route of the child, choosing an educational institution for teaching the child, providing psychological support to families raising children with autism spectrum disorders, organizing information and explanatory work among the population, etc.
Today, 237 institutions of special education operate in the system of special education in Belarus: 141 centers for correctional and developmental rehabilitation training, 48 special kindergartens, 48 special schools, special boarding schools. In institutions of special education and in the conditions of integrated training and education, about 40 thousand teachers implement the educational process, of which 11.9 thousand people – teachers-defectologists and about 1.8 thousand people – preschool educators accompanying children with autism spectrum disorders.
Providing every child equally with the right to education makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 4, 10 and other SDGs.

Site preparation for the Gomel Regional Complex for the Management of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) will begin in March 2023. The Gomel regional complex is designed for the integrated processing of MSW, minimizing the amount of waste that is not subject to further disposal, improving the environmental safety of Gomel and the Gomel, Chechersk, Vetka, Dobrush, Rechitsa and Loevsky regions.
The main technological solutions at the complex include requirements for the extraction and processing of secondary material resources, aerobic stabilization of the fine fraction of MSW, temporary storage of processing residues to obtain alternative fuel.
The construction of the Gomel Regional Complex for the Management of Municipal Solid Waste will make an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 11, 12, 13 and other SDGs.
On March 15-17, 2023, the XII Republican competition of scientific and technical creativity of young students «TechnoIntellect» will be held at the Belarusian National Technical University. The competition is held with the aim of creating and developing effective forms of research education, involving young people in the professional pursuit of science.
Pupils of educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus aged 14 to 18 years of general secondary education institutions, graduates and students of the previous year before graduation of vocational education institutions, secondary specialized education can take part in the republican competition. Works reflecting the results of research, field observations, field and laboratory research, software development, inventions in all three areas of natural, mathematical, technical sciences, performed by the participants independently (without co-authors), creative works are allowed to participate. About 200 participants from all regions of Belarus are expected.
The holding of the XII Republican competition of scientific and technical creativity of young students «TechnoIntellect» contributes to the development of the educational and scientific and technological space of the country and contributes to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 4, 9 and other SDGs.

In 2023, JSC «Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus» continues to implement the program to support small and medium-sized businesses. Particular attention will be paid to those areas that are not leaders in socio-economic development. For small and medium-sized businesses registered or operating in such regions, as well as in the southeastern regions of the Mogilev region and Orsha district, financing will be provided for five products at a rate of 7% per annum.
Support for entrepreneurial initiatives in all regions of the country makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 8, 10, 11 and other SDGs.

In order to form an ecological culture of students in Belarus, a republican environmental campaign is being held on the issues of separate collection of waste and other secondary material resources «Who else, if not us!».
Students of institutions of general secondary education aged 12-17 who are mastering the content of the educational program of additional education for children and youth, as well as students who are mastering the content of the educational program of general secondary education, both individually and collectively, are invited to participate in the action. The action is held in three categories: «People together – garbage separately», «Art for nature», «PRO waste».
Conducting a republican environmental action on the issues of separate collection of waste and other secondary material resources «Who, if not us!» will help attract students’ attention to the environment and environmental problems of their region, which will contribute to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 11, 12, 13 and other SDGs.

From 6 to 17 March 2023, the 67th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women is taking place at the UN Headquarters in New York. The general discussion will focus on the topic «Using innovation, technology and education in the digital age to achieve gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls».
Speaking at the session, Irina Velichko, Head of the Main Department of Multilateral Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, noted that Belarus is included in the group of countries with a high level of development, ranking 60th among 191 countries in terms of the human development index. In the Global Gender Gap Report 2022 (Global Gender Gap Report 2022), Belarus is ranked 36th among 146 countries. At the same time, according to the criterion of «economic participation and opportunities», the country took 4th place.
Belarus has achieved high positions in international rankings thanks to the measures taken to ensure gender equality. The National Council for Gender Policy functions on a permanent basis, and the National Action Plan for Ensuring Gender Equality is being implemented. These issues also remain on the agenda of the National Architecture to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in Belarus.

In 2022, the level of waste use in Belarus was 32%. The country has collected 802.6 thousand tons of secondary material resources, of which 403.9 thousand tons are paper and cardboard waste, 190.1 thousand tons are glass waste, 106.8 thousand tons are plastic waste, 58.9 thousand tons of used tires, 21.1 thousand tons of used motor oils, 21.8 thousand tons of waste electronic and electrical equipment. In terms of actual collection of secondary raw materials, the leaders are: Minsk – 200.9 thousand tons, Gomel region – 108.9 thousand tons and Brest region – 106.6 thousand tons.
The efficient use of waste makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 12, 13 and other SDGs.

Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Valery Belsky has been appointed National Coordinator for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. The corresponding Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus was signed on March 9, 2023.
Leonid Zayats, who previously served as the National Coordinator for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, has been relieved of this position.
The activities of the National Coordinator for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals are aimed at coordinating efforts to achieve the SDGs and are implemented in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated May 25, 2017 №181 «On the National Coordinator for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals».
