Short description

The social initiative “Ekokrai” is an example of involving vulnerable groups of the population in the Braslav region in the production of environmentally friendly products – reusable eco-bags. The initiative was implemented on the basis of LLC “BelVitDesign” with the participation of the regional public association of cross-border cooperation “Euroregion “Lake Region”, national authorities and international organizations. Local support was provided by the Braslav District Executive Committee and the Braslav District TCSON.

CONTENTS OF THE ACTIVITY

The social initiative “Ekokrai” emphasizes the importance of creating conditions for the involvement in active labor and social activities of people with physical disabilities that do not interfere with work, as well as the temporarily unemployed. Activities are focused on solving problems such as: designing and adapting workplaces to integrate vulnerable groups into the workforce, with an emphasis on training and developing the necessary skills; ensuring the production and release of environmentally friendly products; promoting social inclusion and economic development of vulnerable groups through partnerships and public participation.

KEY STEPS OF IMPLEMENTATION:

Development of training programs, employment of the temporarily unemployed.
Research and development of technologies for the production of eco-friendly bags.
Purchase of equipment and materials for stationary and home production.
implementation home working system and provision training for domestic workers.
Product design and marketing.
Creation of brand and marketing strategy, including logo and product design.
Prototyping and testing of products, promotion through social networks and other channels.
Collaboration and community involvement, partnering with local organizations to support the initiative.
Organization of information campaigns to increase general.

RESULTS AND IMPACT OF THE INITIATIVE

5 work places were created at home with a convenient work schedule. Ten disabled people, those with many children and the unemployed received employment opportunities, which contributed to their social integration and provision of a stable source of income.

Documents and technological maps for the production of environmentally friendly products were developed, knitting equipment and materials were purchased, the necessary personnel were trained in sewing, macrame weaving and knitting, the first product samples were produced.

The promotional website with eco-products has been created, and a logistics scheme for the delivery of goods was thought out.

The production of reusable eco-bags has a significant environmental and economic impact by helping to reduce pollution, encourage environmentally responsible consumption and promote sustainable business practices. Creating reusable bags helps reduce product development and promotion costs. The initiative helps to improving the environmental situation, reduce waste generation and increase inclusion in society.
