109 cities of Belarus connected to the Belarusbank Student Card

In the 2023/2024 academic year, a unique project for financial support for children «Student Card», implemented by OJSC «Savings Bank «Belarusbank», was launched in schools in Belarus.

A student card is a product for schoolchildren that combines the functions of a payment card and a document confirming student status. The card helps educational institutions create a safe and productive educational environment by using it as a pass, a library card or an authorization key in a computer lab. In addition, with a Student Card, schoolchildren can travel free on public transport during school hours. This right has already been implemented in the city of Minsk, Vitebsk, Minsk, Gomel and Grodno regions, as well as in certain regions of the Brest region (Ivanovo, Stolin, Lyakhovichi and Drogichinsky districts).

To date, 109 cities, 36 urban-type settlements, as well as 115 rural settlements in Belarus have joined the project. The project has already covered 800 educational institutions, where over 505 thousand children study.

The implementation of the project «Student Card» helps students master financial literacy skills and contributes to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 4, 9, 11 and other SDGs.
