30.5 thousand social facilities will be fully accessible to people with disabilities by 2025

In Belarus, much attention is paid to unimpeded access of citizens, including people with disabilities, to social infrastructure facilities. The share of accessibility of social facilities today is 19.6%. There are 22 thousand objects in the country that are fully accessible to all categories of people with disabilities. By the end of 2025, it is planned to develop another 8 thousand social facilities, which will increase the accessibility percentage to 23.4%.

The development of an automated information system for recording the availability of social infrastructure facilities is undergo. In 2024, it is planned to complete the formation of an electronic database of available social infrastructure facilities, the information from which will be reflected on the public cadastral Internet map. This map will become a virtual guide around the city for people with disabilities. It is planned that the automated information system will be launched on January 1, 2025.

Improving social integration and social mobility of people with disabilities contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals 10, 11 and the other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.
