A draft law on the protection and use of water has been submitted for public discussion

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus is holding a public discussion of the draft Law of the Republic of Belarus “On Amendments to the Laws of the Republic of Belarus”.

The draft Law is aimed at improving the legal regulation of relations in the field of protection and use of water, taking into account the practice of applying the Water Code of the Republic of Belarus. The draft Law also introduces amendments to the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On State Environmental Expertise, Strategic Environmental Assessment and Environmental Impact Assessment” and the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Architectural, Urban Planning and Construction Activities.

Comments and suggestions can be expressed in a special topic on the Legal Forum of Belarus or sent to the email address mail@minpriroda.gov.by before August 18, 2024.

Updating the provisions of the Water Code of the Republic of Belarus, the Code of the Republic of Belarus on architectural, urban planning and construction activities and the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On State Environmental Expertise, Strategic Environmental Assessment and Environmental Impact Assessment” will contribute to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of the Sustainable Development Goals 11, 13, 14, 15 and the other SDGs.
