15 December 2023

On December 12, 2023, a meeting of the intersectoral group on economics was held in Minsk within the framework of the Council for Sustainable Development.

Participants of the event got acquainted with an analytical report on the progress of the implementation of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development for the period until 2035, as well as the results of work on connecting government programs with the goals and objectives of sustainable development, and the comparability of national indicators with indicators for achieving the SDGs.

In Belarus, an assessment of the consolidated target and target indicators of existing 26 state programs was carried out, according to which the majority of state programs are fully or partially comparable with the national indicators of the Sustainable Development Goals. The degree of agreement is 60%. At the same time, the potential for further implementation of the SDGs was noted.

In addition, work on the development of the National Sustainable Development Strategy for the period until 2040 is underway in Belarus. Development priorities have already been identified and several foresight sessions have been held, as well as a conference, based on the results of which the first version of the concept has been developed, taking into account the analysis of global trends, risks and opportunities for Belarus.
