On June 25, 2024, a meeting of the commission on state scientific and technical policy under the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus was held in Minsk. At the meeting, issues of developing the draft Comprehensive Forecast of Scientific and Technological Progress of Belarus for 2026-2030 and for the period until 2045, as well as draft proposals on priority areas of scientific, scientific, technical and innovative activities of Belarus for 2026–2030 were discussed.
These documents are of strategic importance and are the basis for the development of other government forecasting and planning documents regulating socio-economic development: National Sustainable Development Strategy, Program for Socio-Economic Development, sectoral strategies. Taking into account these documents, a list of various government programs will be formed, and new projects will be selected and decisions will be made on the financing of scientific research, development and projects to create innovative industrial capacities.
The Comprehensive Forecast of Scientific and Technological Progress in Belarus is primarily focused on 15 sectors of the economy and 22 types of economic activity. Among such industries are the manufacturing industry, agriculture, medicine, and education.
