A meeting on the development of domestic tourism was held in Novogrudok

On August 13, 2021, in Novogrudok, with the participation of Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, a meeting was held on the development of tourism in the Republic of Belarus. Belarus is interesting, attractive and has great potential in the development of tourism. According to the Prime Minister, it is necessary to maximize the use of the country’s existing competitive advantages.
Belarus ranks not height place in terms of the contribution of tourism to the economy. Our country is in the second hundred in the world ranking. The share of tourism in GDP does not exceed 2.5%. In the export of services – 3%. This figure reaches 30% in some countries. As the Prime Minister noted, domestic tourism has not received proper development in Belarus. A strategy for the development of domestic tourism until 2035 was developed to improve the tourism industry. It is planned to allocate 464 million rubles for the development of the tourist infrastructure in the country for the five-year period.
The development of domestic tourism and tourism infrastructure will make a significant contribution to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 12 and others.
