A new national plan on gender equality is being developed in Belarus

The draft National Plan was developed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection in cooperation with the republican government bodies, the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, UNDP and public associations. The purpose of the National Plan is to introduce a gender factor into the implementation of state policy as an integral condition of equal development of human capital of women and men. This is part of the work to achieve the goals of the Agenda-2030 and the National Sustainable Development Strategy of Belarus until 2035.
According to the National Plan, the directions of gender policy development in Belarus will be as follows:
– development of an institutional mechanism to ensure gender equality;
– equalizing social and economic opportunities for men and women, facilitating the reconciliation of parental and professional responsibilities;
– ensuring gender-oriented health care;
– combating domestic violence and human trafficking;
– awareness raising and educational support for ensuring gender equality.
