On October 8, 2023, a round table was held in Minsk on the topic «Social adaptation and integration of children with special needs of psychophysical development. Training in the field of inclusive education».

The principle of inclusion is one of the main directions of the state policy of the Republic of Belarus in the field of education. It is enshrined in the State Program «Education and Youth Policy» for 2021-2025, the Education Code of the Republic of Belarus. According to preliminary data, the number of children with special needs of psychophysical development is 183,2 thousand children, for whom the education system offers various options for organizing the educational process.

In total, there are 236 special education institutions in Belarus, including 48 special kindergartens, 47 special schools and special boarding schools, 141 centers for correctional and developmental education and rehabilitation.

In addition, the education system provides a number of benefits and measures of social support for children with special needs of psychophysical development: payment for meals in educational institutions, free correction of physical or mental developmental disabilities, organization of free transportation for students, provision of social and pedagogical support to graduates after graduation in the future employment.

Providing accessible and quality education for every child makes an important contribution to the Republic of Belarus achieving Sustainable Development Goals 4, 10 and other SDGs.
