In order to provide interdisciplinary and family-centered assistance to young children with developmental disabilities and their families, early intervention centers are being created and functioning in the Republic of Belarus.
In total, there were 50 early intervention centers in Belarus in 2022. Three more centers were opened in 2023: two at children’s clinics in Minsk and one at the Gomel Regional Orphanage. It is planned that 5 more early intervention centers will be opened in 2023: in Stolin, Kobrin, Minsk, Zhodino and Smorgon.
The functioning of early intervention centers contributes to the social adaptation and integration of children with special needs and contributes to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 3, 10 and other SDGs.
