Action «Clean Forest» was held in Belarus

12 October 2021

On October 9, 2021, at the initiative of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Belarus, the republican voluntary action «Clean Forest» was held.

For the first time the action was held in Belarus in 2010. In 2021, it is being held for the 11th time and has gathered more than 40 thousand residents of the country.

Within the framework of the action, work was organized to eliminate unauthorized dumps, clean up construction and household waste, improve roadside strips, as well as forest areas near settlements and memorial sites.

During the day, volunteers, together with forestry workers, removed over 4 thousand cubic meters of garbage and litter from the forest fund, restored about 50 places of public recreation and planted about 1.5 million trees. The ecological action “Clean Forest” is aimed at fostering respect for nature and contributes to the achievement of the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 12, 13, 15 and other SDGs.
