The environmental agenda in Belarus traditionally occupies a central place in state policy. A multi-stage system of continuous environmental education, upbringing and enlightenment has been created and is functioning in the country, starting from kindergarten and ending with a system of retraining and advanced training. A special role in shaping the ecological thinking of young people is played by the network of «Green Schools», the work of public coordinating environmental councils and public ecologists. Considerable attention in Belarus is paid to scientific research in the field of ecology, as well as the formation of an environmental culture and careful attitude to natural resources, and the dissemination of environmental information.
At the moment, the task in Belarus is to formulate an environmental agenda in the context of the SDGs. The main goals should be the implementation of a set of measures to ensure the environmental safety of the country and the involvement of a wide range of citizens and public organizations in the implementation of environmental and environmental projects and initiatives.
