Belarus has prepared a draft state program in the areas of ensuring nuclear and radiation safety and overcoming the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster “Public safety Infrastructure” for 2026-2030.
The draft program has been prepared to improve the radiation safety infrastructure both in the territories affected by the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and in Belarus as a whole. The document takes into account the continuity of the current state program for overcoming the consequences of the disaster for 2021-2025 in terms of measures aimed at minimizing the risk of the Chernobyl legacy and the development of rescue infrastructure.
Ensuring nuclear and radiation safety makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of the Sustainable Development Goal 3 and the other SDGs.
