Belarus provides financial support to the unemployed to start their own business

According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus, in 2021, 1391 unemployed people were provided with subsidies aimed at organizing:

  • entrepreneurial activity – 1066;
  • handicraft activities – 311;
  • activities for the provision of services in the field of agroecotourism – 14.

In addition, 1,087 people (78.1%) who received financial support were trained in the basics of entrepreneurship.

The main types of entrepreneurial activities organized by the unemployed include construction services, retail trade, the provision of services by hairdressers and beauty salons, the production of agricultural products, etc.

Financial support for unemployed citizens contributes to improving the living standards of the population, and also makes a significant contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 1, 8, 10 and other SDGs.
