Belarus ranks 22nd in terms of access to ICT

According to the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2023, Belarus ranks 22nd in terms of access to ICT among 132 countries.

ICT access is represented by a composite index that assigns weights to 4 indicators:

• percentage of the population covered by mobile networks (at least 3G, at least LTE/WiMAX);
• number of mobile cellular subscribers per 100 inhabitants;
• international Internet bandwidth (bit/s) per Internet user;
• percentage of households with Internet access.

As of the beginning of 2024, 99% of the population in Belarus is covered by the LTE (4G) mobile network. The number of mobile connections accounted for 120.5% of the total population. 89.5% of households in the country have Internet access.
