On October 19-20, 2023, the Regional Conference on Population and Development «Population and Development: Ensuring Rights and Choices» was held in Geneva.
The head of the Department of Population, Gender and Family Policy of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection Svetlana Belash, the head of the Department of Specialized Assistance of the Ministry of Health Tatiana Sanukevich, the head of the Main Department of Multilateral Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Irina Velichko took part in the conference. The head of the UNFPA office in Belarus, Olga Atroshchenko, also participated in the conference.
In their speeches, the Belarusian delegation presented trends in the demographic development of the Republic of Belarus, directions for the implementation of social policy, the role of the family in sustainable development and individual well-being. At the end of the reports, it was noted that Belarus is progressively moving along the path of sustainable development and is interested in applying integrated international experience and establishing partnerships.
