Belarusian delegation took part in the World Women’s Forum in Mongolia

On August 22–23, 2024, the World Women’s Forum on the theme: “For a Green Future” was held in Mongolia.

The Chairperson of the Belarusian Union of Women, Olga Shpilevskaya, took part in the forum, delivering a report on the topic: “State policy of Belarus to ensure equal rights and opportunities for women in the socio-economic sphere”.

In her speech, Olga Shpilevskaya noted that equality of labor rights in Belarus is regulated at the legislative level: the country is implementing the National Action Plan to Ensure Gender Equality, which gives positive results. According to the Gender Inequality Index, Belarus ranks 29th among 170 countries, and according to the Gender Gap Index, it ranks 36th among 146 countries. Olga Shpilevskaya also noted that the country maintains a high level of female participation in the workforce, the level of female unemployment is decreasing, support is provided for female entrepreneurship, opportunities for women in the labor market are expanding, and the gender gap in terms of pension levels is decreasing.
