The NGO Belarusian Fund of Peace, together with the NGO Russian Fund of Peace, with the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus, is implementing a large-scale project “Strong in Spirit” aimed at helping children’s social boarding schools.
“Strong in Spirit” is a project about inner strength, the right to be heard, and how art can become a bridge between loneliness and hope. A large-scale humanitarian and creative initiative brought together children, artists, society and business. For many participants, this is not just an art meeting, but a way to express their “I” and tell the world their story.
As part of the project, children with special needs from nine boarding schools in Belarus create paintings together with famous artists. The participants of the project were boarding house “Raduzhny” in Grodno, “Radiant” in Bogushevsky district, “Happy smiles” in Gomel, “Cozy” in Rechitsky district, “Cornflowers” in Vasilishkovsky district, “Kindness of Hearts” in Ivenetsky district, “Igumensky” in Chervensky district, “Vesnovo” in Glusk, “Sunny” in Minsk. The first works have already been prepared. The paintings painted by boarding school students are exhibited at charity exhibitions, and the proceeds are used to equip institutions: purchase equipment, furniture, clothing, household needs and educational materials.
The implementation of the “Strong in Spirit” project contributes to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of the Sustainable Development Goals 3, 10 and the other SDGs.
