Cooperation for local economy sustainable development will be discussed at the 2nd Regional Forum

The II Regional Forum “Regional Cooperation for Sustainable Local Economic Development” will be held on November 23-27, 2020 in online format.

The objectives of the forum are to develop recommendations to increase the sustainability of regional economies and to integrate best practices into regional interaction for employment growth and self-employment.

As part of the Forum program, participants will discuss the following topics:

  • Challenges to local development today and regional cooperation  for local development;
  • Local Economy for sustainable development;
  • Sustainable agricultural development. Eco- and agribusiness development to increase employment and self-employment;
  • Approaches to local economic development for growth of employment and self-employment;
  • Tourism development in the context of COVID-19 pandemic;
  • Creative economy, its realities and opportunities for the local economy;
  • Social entrepreneurship as innovation for rural areas;
  • Regional accelerators for local development;  
  • Digitalization of development and conditions for its implementation;
  • Ecologization of development and conditions for its implementation;
  • Potential of regional universities for regional and local development;
  • Nonprofit organizations as local development support structures;
  • Inter-district cooperation for local development.

The Forum addresses such sustainable development goals as Goal 17 “Partnership for Sustainable Development”, Goal 4 “Quality Education”, Goal 5 “Gender Equality”, Goal 8 “Decent Work and Economic Growth”, Goal 9 “Industrialization, Innovation and Infrastructure”, Goal 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities”, Goal 12 “Responsible Consumption and Production”, Goal 13 “Combating Climate Change”.
