Festival of innovative ESD practices was held at BSPU

On December 17, 2021, BSPU hosted the final event of the Decade «Education for Sustainable Development for All» – the Festival of innovative ESD practices.
The festival was attended by over 150 representatives of 64 different educational institutions of the country, regional initiatives in the field of sustainable development, public organizations, scientific and expert communities.
- With welcoming words to the participants of the Festival were addressed:
- on behalf of the National Coordinator for Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals Anatoly Isachenko – Irina Velichko, Head of the Main Department of Multilateral Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus;
- Alexander Kadlubay – Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus;
- Ioanna Kazana-Vishnevetsky – UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Belarus;
- Alexander Zhuk – Rector of BSPU, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor.
The best experience in implementing innovative ESD practices was presented at four thematic platforms:
- «Green» transition to inclusive and sustainable growth»;
- «Focus on future generations»;
- «Digital transformation and social innovation»;
- «Gender equality in society».
The participants of the Festival got acquainted with the activities of the Republican Resource Center for Inclusive Education, the Republican Center for Psychological Assistance, the Republican Center for Educational Robotics, the initiatives of UNICEF, UNFPA, UNDP, as well as with the «sustainable» projects of BSPU.
The ESD stream became an interactive stage of the Festival – a series of thematic activities in the context of sustainable development, which included:
- stand «School without plastic» (NGO «Our trace»);
- the stand of the Ecotransport Lovers Club (State Educational Institution «Gymnasium 19 of Minsk»);
- thematic platform «Volunteer Center of BSPU» (Republican Center for Educational Robotics BSPU);
- thematic platform «Gender stereotypes» (Volunteer team of the SDG BSPU);
- ECOmaster «Creativity for everyone» (MBOO «Children. Autism. Parents» and ceramic studio «Nasha Mara»);
- interactive platform FDO BSPU;
- stand of the LRC Volunteer Unit of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University (presentation of the board game «SDG: What? Where? When?» And a set of puzzles «SDG»);
- stand of KC ESD BSPU (presentation of the project «Straight to the Target! »).
Also, within the framework of the Festival, an award ceremony was held for the authors of the best initiatives of the Decade. The winners were selected based on the results of open online voting among 72 youth projects from 12 educational institutions of the country.
Holding the Festival of innovative ESD practices makes a significant contribution to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals 4, 10, 11 and other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.
