Forum of Responsible Business was held in Minsk

6 December 2024

On December 5, 2024, the Forum of Responsible Business was held in Minsk, organized by the UN Global Compact network in Belarus with the support of the UN Resident Coordinator Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

The event brought together more than 150 participants, including top managers of Belarusian businesses, specialists in the field of ESG, HR, PR and corporate social responsibility, representatives of UN agencies, the diplomatic corps, the scientific community, public organizations and business unions.

The forum became a unique platform for discussing the best solutions for implementing sustainability principles into business processes and provided an opportunity to find ideas and partners for new sustainable projects. An important aspect of the forum was to draw attention to the importance of local business in improving the quality of life in the country and to continue the discussion on the role of business in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Forum program included a panel discussion “Challenges and opportunities for business related to the use of sustainable development principles and ESG factors in their activities”, a business game: ESG ratings, as well as two plenary sessions: “The role of the banking sector in stimulating the ESG transformation of Belarusian business” and “Sustainable development and ESG in the real sector of the Republic of Belarus”.

The Forum of Responsible Business will contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
