In the first half of 2025, every Belarusian sent more than 50 kg of secondary material resources for processing

According to the data of the State Institution “Operator of Secondary Material Resources”, 468.98 thousand tons of secondary material resources were collected or harvested in Belarus in the first half of 2025. The resulting value is 48.3% of the value planned for 2025 and exceeds the figure for the same period in 2024 by 13.4%.

In particular, collected:

  • 214.29 thousand tons of paper and cardboard waste (52.4% of the annual target)
  • 119.69 thousand tons of glass waste (41.4%)
  • 76.24 thousand tons of polymer waste (plastic) (45.9%)
  • 32.8 thousand tons of worn tires (57.4%)
  • 13.11 thousand tons of used oils (62.4%)
  • 12.85 thousand tons of waste electrical and electronic equipment (46.6%)

In per capita terms, over the six months of 2025, each resident of the country sent an average of more than 50 kg of secondary material resources for processing.

The effective use of secondary material resources makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of the Sustainable Development Goals 12, 13 and the other SDGs.
