On July 21, 2022, the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus organized a dialogue platform to create conditions for education, rehabilitation, social adaptation and physical development of children with autism spectrum disorders. The event was attended by representatives of ministries, public organizations, specialists in the field of autistic disorder, etc.
Currently, 2,770 children in the Republic of Belarus have an autistic spectrum disorder. More than half of the students receive special education in the conditions of integrated education and training, about 15 percent of them receive general secondary education in regular groups and classes, and 10 percent receive education at home. In order to create conditions for the individual development of each child, a special working group will be formed under the Council of the Republic, which will deal with the integration of children with disabilities.
The inclusion of children with disabilities contributes to the formation of an inclusive society and contributes to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 4, 10 and other SDGs.
