On December 2 and 3, 2021, Vitebsk hosted the IX International Economic Forum «Innovations. Investments. Prospects» with the thematic area «Digital economy – a driver of innovative development in the region».
The forum was attended by over 30 business delegations, representatives of the diplomatic corps from 15 countries. The event was organized by the Vitebsk regional and city executive committees, the Vitebsk regional marketing center, the administration of the FEZ «Vitebsk», the Vitebsk branch of the Bel CCI and the regional union of employers.
The participants of the IX International Economic Forum presented their regions and companies, discussed problematic issues, exchanged views in the framework of the panel discussions «Smart Region», «Innovation and Industry», «Model of Belarusian-Russian interregional cooperation of regions on the example of developing the concept of sustainable development of the Pskov and Vitebsk regions , building a model of «green economy». In addition, the program of the Forum provided for virtual and face-to-face exhibitions of business entities of the Vitebsk region.
The holding of the International Economic Forum contributes to the exchange of experience in the use of high technologies, the formation of infrastructure and legal environment for the development of the digital economy, and also contributes to the achievement of the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 8, 9, 11, 17 and other SDGs.
