Measures to develop the transport sector are being taken in Belarus

In April 2022, the Government of Belarus approved the Comprehensive Plan to Support the Economy, which pays special attention to the transport component. In particular, the plan provides for measures to develop international transport and logistics corridors and create additional conditions for building logistics chains in the supply of goods to the east.

As part of the implementation of the State Program «Roads of Belarus», in 2022 it is planned to carry out current and major repairs on 39 bridges, and by 2025 it is planned to reconstruct 107 bridges and repair about 10 thousand linear meters of road structures, as well as modernize the M-3 Minsk – Vitebsk highway on the section Minsk – Pleschenitsy, R-23 Minsk – Mikashevichi on the section from Soligorsk to Starobin, M-8/E 95 from Vitebsk to Orsha.

Improving the conditions for the functioning of transport and the development of its infrastructure makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goal 9 and other SDGs.
