Mobility Week started in Belarus

On September 16–22, 2024 Mobility Week is being held in Belarus.
The aim of the Mobility Week is to remind people about the negative impact of motor transport on the environment and to encourage the population to use alternative modes of transport.
Throughout the week, various events will be held in Belarus to promote alternative modes of transport: bike rides, excursions, exhibitions, demonstration performances, master classes. A broad information campaign is also planned – the media will regularly cover the problems of air pollution, as well as the tasks and goals of the Mobility Week and the environmental campaign “Car Free Day”.
The Mobility Week will end with the environmental campaign “Car Free Day”. In 2024, the event will be held under the slogan “Belarus for Clean Air”. On this day, September 22, car owners will be able to travel on the metro and public transport for free. To do this, they will need to present a driver’s license and vehicle registration certificate.
Reducing emissions into the atmosphere makes an important contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals 7, 12, 13 and the other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.
