Every year, on the eve of the new school year, charity events and fairs such as “School Backpack”, “Get Your Child Ready for School”, “To School with a Smile”, “First-Grader’s Schoolbag” and other are held in all regions of Belarus to help prepare children for school.
Among such events is the annual Republican charity campaign “To School with Kind Heart”, organized by the public association “Belarusian Republican Youth Union”.
In 2024, the campaign took place from August 1 to September 5, 2024. During this period, 550 charity collection points for items needed by children were organized in the regions of the country and 581 events were held to distribute stationery and sports supplies, creative products, educational board games, teaching aids, school clothes and shoes.
In total, within the framework of the campaign “To School with Kind Heart”, support was provided to 6,042 children, 175 social institutions and 1,292 families of various categories: large families, single-parent families, and in socially dangerous situations. In addition, 4,543 volunteers of the Kind Heart movement took part in the event.
Providing support to prepare children for the school year contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals 1, 4, 10 and the other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.
