New format of environmental education is being implemented in Belarus

In order to improve environmental literacy among children, form a culture of «green behavior», expand knowledge about ecotourism, the four largest specially protected natural areas of Belarus – the «Osveisky», «Naliboksky», «Ozery» and «Krasny Bor» reserves, work together with educational institutions on the creation of a new network of clubs for young ecologists.
The initiative is being implemented by the SEI «Osveyskaya Secondary School of the Verkhnedvinsky District», the SEI «Klyastitsky Kindergarten-Secondary School named after. V.A. Khomchenovsky Rossony district the SEI «Secondary School № 1 of Volozhin», the SEI «Ozersk Secondary School».
The created clubs of young ecologists have already united more than 100 people – 80 children and 20 environmental experts. In clubs, children will get acquainted with the flora and fauna of protected areas, learn about the importance of preserving nature and biodiversity for human well-being. The first events of the reserves and the network of clubs of young ecologists were held in the summer of 2022 in the Vitebsk, Minsk and Grodno regions.
The creation of a network of clubs for young ecologists will make an important contribution to the development of the «green» economy of Belarus, as well as to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 4, 13, 14, 15 and other SDGs.
