New waste sorting plant will be built near Minsk

In the spring of 2024, it is planned to begin construction of a new waste sorting plant in the Trostenetsky landfill.

The plant is expected to build additional conveyors to increase the productivity of the existing line of the enterprise «Ecores», construction of a new production building, a boiler house using waste wood chips with a backup electric boiler, RDF fuel drying facilities, sheds for storing secondary resources, etc. The production complex plans to produce up to 114 thousand tons per year of RDF fuel and will organize the sorting of up to 600 thousand tons per year of mixed solid municipal waste, including up to 30 thousand tons per year of separately collected waste to obtain secondary material resources.

The construction of a waste sorting plant in the area of the Trostenetsky landfill will make it possible to achieve a waste utilization level above 45%, and will also contribute to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 12, 13 and other SDGs.
