Nine energy projects will be implemented in Belarus

Taking into account the growing demand of the real sector of the economy and the population for electrical energy and to improve the reliability of power supply, new high-voltage and distribution power lines are being modernized and built in the country and systematic work has been launched to reconstruct substations. An example of such work is the substation «Brest-Zapadnaya», which was put into operation on November 9, 2022 and improves the reliability of power supply in the central part of the city. The substation uses new equipment and modern technologies that allow remote control of switching equipment, increase the safety of substation maintenance and significantly reduce the period of emergency response. Also, since September 2022, work has been underway in Brest on the reconstruction of the substation «North-West».

In total, 11 energy projects have been implemented in Belarus over the past ten years. It is planned to implement 9 more projects in the next 3-5 years.

The creation of new energy sources and the improvement of the energy efficiency of the country makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 7, 9 and other SDGs.
