Over 402,000 tons of recycled raw materials harvested in Belarus

As of the beginning of August 2023, over 402 thousand tons of secondary material resources (SMR) were procured in the Republic of Belarus. On average, each resident of the republic sorted and handed over for processing 43.5 kg of secondary raw materials.
In particular, the number of collected SMRs was distributed as follows:
- paper and cardboard waste – 200,2 thousand tons;
- glass waste – 96,8 thousand tons;
- polymer waste – 55,1 thousand tons;
- worn tires – 30,4 thousand tons;
- used oils – 9,6 thousand tons;
- waste electrical and electronic equipment – 10,7 thousand tons.
The efficient use of waste makes an important contribution to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 12, 13 and other SDGs.
