Preparation of the draft Environmental Code has started in Belarus
On April 30, 2025, the first meeting of the working group on the preparation of the draft Environmental Code of Belarus was held in Minsk. The working group included representatives of various government agencies and organizations.
For consideration at the meeting was presented a document prepared in accordance with the approaches defined in the concept of the draft Environmental Code. The constructive suggestions made will be considered in the draft Environmental Code.
The Environmental Code is being developed to systematize legislative acts and individual legislative acts in the field of environmental protection, to define the range of public relations related to environmental relations (nature protection, natural resources), as well as to eliminate gaps, contradictions, duplication and multiplicity of legal prescriptions on the same issues.
The adoption and implementation of the provisions of the Environmental Code will contribute to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of the Sustainable Development Goals 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and the other SDGs.
