On January 29, 2025, a press conference was held in Minsk on the theme: “The industrial sector – the basis of strategic development and technological sovereignty of the country. The contest “Industry Leaders of the Republic of Belarus”.
The conference was focused on the prospects for the development of Belarus’ industrial potential, current innovations in machine building, development of domestic microelectronics, interaction between higher education institutions and enterprises in training highly professional engineering personnel, as well as the terms and procedure for holding the Republican Contest “Industry Leaders of the Republic of Belarus – 2025”.
During the event it was noted that industrial production today forms more than a quarter of the gross domestic product of Belarus. The most developed sectors are machine-building complex, food and beverage production, production of petroleum products, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, woodworking, light industry.
Much attention is paid in Belarus to import substitution, localization of production and, in general, to the development of industrial infrastructure. Production facilities are being modernized and automated, modern technologies are being introduced, and the range of products is being expanded.
In order to promote the competitiveness of enterprises of priority sectors of Belarus in the domestic and foreign markets, to identify advanced products and solutions in the field of industrial technologies, and to share best practices, the Republic of Belarus holds an annual Republican contest for the award for achievements in the field of industrial technologies and management “Leaders of Industry of the Republic of Belarus”.
The available mechanisms and competencies will open up new opportunities to further promote the best practices of domestic industrial enterprises in 2025.
Applications for participation in the contest will be accepted until April 14, 2025. The winners will be determined on May 20-21, 2025 in 25 nominations in three groups: “Enterprise of the Year”, “Project of the Year”, “Product of the Year”. Development of industrial sectors, stimulating improvement of the quality of products and efficiency of industrial production contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals 9, 12 and the other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.
