2 May 2025

On April 25, 2025, the first group of the offline digital literacy school #TeachYourBelongings, aimed at teaching digital skills to the elderly persons, graduated in Minsk. A group of 40 trainees completed the course.

Since November 2020, the #TeachYourBelongings project has been implemented by Mobile Tele Systems LLC (MTS) in the form of a free online school, now the course can be taken offline at the State Institution “Territorial Social Service Center of Pershamaiski District of Minsk”.

The program of the updated course for the offline school consists of two stages of free training: basic for beginners who are just starting to master digital literacy, and a more advanced level for those who want to improve their skills. During the classes, elderly persons learn how to use smartphones and tablets to safely use payment services, social networks, communicate in messengers, order goods online, book electronic vouchers to the doctor, etc. New topics include sending and tracking parcels, getting acquainted with transportation schedules and fares, creating presentations, making purchases on marketplaces and online platforms, as well as an overview of the Maya Respublika portal. In addition, the course instructor teaches how to competently use artificial intelligence tools to create pictures and texts.

The next enrollment in the offline school will be in September 2025. Enrollment is available on the website of the digital literacy school #TeachYourBelongings.

The implementation of the #TeachYourBelongers project to teach digital literacy to elderly persons contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals 4, 10 and the other SDGs by the Republic of Belarus.
