On May 19, 2023, the conference «Development of the Rating Market in Belarus: Background and Trends» was held in Minsk, organized by the rating agency « BIK Ratings» together with the Association of Belarusian Banks.
The event was attended by over 50 representatives of rating agencies, government authorities, investors, financial institutions and businesses interested in developing the rating services market in Belarus.
During the conference, the participants discussed the experience of working in the Belarusian rating market, the prospects for its development and improvement, the system for regulating rating activity in Belarus, and the experience of introducing ratings into the investment process. In addition, within the framework of the discussion panel «Possibilities of implementing credit ratings in the banking system of Belarus», the participants discussed the possibilities for developing the national rating industry and exchanged proposals for introducing ratings into banking legislation and various sectors of the economy.
The implementation of the use of ratings in managing the company’s risks according to financial, environmental, social and management criteria contributes to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 8, 13 and other SDGs.
