Public discussions of the draft National Action Plan to prevent land degradation take place in Belarus

Draft Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus “On Approval of the National Action Plan to Prevent Land (Soil) Degradation for 2021-2025” is submitted for public discussion till April 16.

The draft includes:
— measures to improve the legal regulation in preventing land (soil) degradation;
— practical measures on preventing degradation and rehabilitating degraded lands (soils);
— increasing the level of scientific and technical knowledge and strengthening international cooperation in this area.

The activities included in the draft National Action Plan to Prevent Land (Soil) Degradation are aimed at achieving Sustainable Development Goal 15 “Conservation of Terrestrial Ecosystems”.

The organizer of the public discussion of the project is the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus.
