On November 16, 2023, within the framework of the Joint project «Supporting the efforts of Belarus in the nationalization and localization of the Sustainable Development Goals», implemented by UN agencies and funded by the Government of the Russian Federation, a seminar «Gender expertise of legal acts: international and national practice» was held in Minsk. The event was organized by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Belarus.
Representatives of government agencies, the National Center for Legislation and Legal Research of the Republic of Belarus, UN agencies, and the scientific community took part in the seminar.
During the seminar, participants reviewed international experience in conducting gender expertise of legislative acts, as well as the state and prospects for the development of gender expertise of normative legal acts in the Republic of Belarus.
Compliance of regulatory legal acts with the principles of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men contributes to the achievement by the Republic of Belarus of Sustainable Development Goals 5, 10 and other SDGs.
