On February 28, 2025, the VII conference “Self-employment” was held in Smorgon. It was aimed at bringing together entrepreneurs, craftsmen, owners of agricultural farms and self-employed people on one platform, to discuss their concerns, get competent answers, find appropriate solutions in dialog with representatives of government agencies.
The main attention was paid to the opportunities and prospects of self-employment, current tools of financial and non-financial support for start-up entrepreneurs, taxation, financial reporting, peculiarities of legislation regulating the activities of individuals. Also, during the speeches, experts, representatives of ministries shared with the guests of the conference the nuances of the work of successful agro-estates, farms, craftsmen, explained in detail the aspects of entrepreneurial activity.
Today, 70 thousand people in Belarus are self-employed. Their activity contributes to increasing entrepreneurial activity of the population and is an important factor for the growth of the domestic economy, which contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal 8 and the other SDGs.
The VII conference “Self-employment” is organized within the framework of the project “Resources and Opportunities” by the entrepreneurial wing of the NGO “Belarusian Women’s Union” with the support of the Smorgon District Executive Committee, “Intellectual Business Technologies” LLC and JSC “Belinvestbank”.
