Technological safety should become a key priority of industry programs

On April 4, 2024, a meeting of the joint board of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus and the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus was held in Minsk.

During the meeting, issues of ensuring the alignment of 10-year industry development strategies with the goals of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development for the period until 2035 and the project initiatives of the Comprehensive Forecast of Scientific and Technological Progress for the period until 2045 were considered.

To date, some work has already been done to develop industry development strategies for 10 years: together with interested parties, more than 25 technological maps have been prepared – ready-made algorithms for the formation of production chains. It is planned that the most significant projects will be implemented in petrochemistry, mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, woodworking, and production of building materials. The next stage is the analysis of technological maps for their connection with the Comprehensive Forecast of Scientific and Technological Progress until 2045.

In addition, the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus adopted a joint order dated March 13, 2024 № 25/88 «On the organization of interaction». The document is aimed at synchronizing management decisions on the technological development of industries, strengthening the role of science and innovation in economic development, developing methodological recommendations for the formation of industry development strategies and the formation of conceptual approaches to the development of the draft Technological Security Strategy of the Republic of Belarus for the period until 2030.
