For the development of the Belarusian economic model, it is necessary to stimulate the development of the small and medium-sized business sector as a whole by creating a favorable business climate.
On June 25, 2021, Head of State Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree № 240 «On Administrative Procedures Performed in Respect of Business Entities», aimed at improving the procedure for implementing administrative procedures in respect of business entities: the task is to minimize their number, as well as simplify and convert them to digital format.
Along with systemic measures, as a tool to support citizens’ initiative, the State Program «Small and Medium Business» for the period up to 2025 has been developed, which provides resource and organizational support for small and medium-sized businesses. A set of 38 measures has been developed for the implementation of the State Program. Activities to create a favorable business climate in the new five-year plan will be aimed at increasing the share of SMBs in GDP to 33%, in revenue — 49%, export of goods — 35%, export of services — 45%, in investments — 40.1%.
Maximum efforts and productive joint work of the state and business are required to solve this motivating task.
The development of buisness in our country is one of the traditional priorities of the economy.
The main role of SMBs is to saturate the consumer market with demanded goods and services. Business creates new jobs by contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals 8 and other SDGs.
